Summary of the June 5, 2010 Rules Changes.

These changes are effective as of June 5, 2010 & will become a part of the Official PBBA Rules.

The modified PBBA Rules will be published soon.

Open Bull Format:

The two tier system for open bulls was eliminated.  All open bulls will compete in the same open class.  The entry fees are $400.  All tier I or tier II points earned by bulls will be combined and their standings will be combined as the PBBA Open bull standings.

Open Bull Payout:

The PBBA will pay 1 (one) hole for every four (4) bulls entered.  For example: 16 bulls entered pays 4 holes, 20 pays 5, & so on.

Entry Fee Money Withheld:

For the PBBA Open events, entry fees are $400.  The changes to the amounts withheld are: $30 of the entry fee will be paid to the PBBA to cover administrative costs (formerly $50), $25 will be withheld for the PBBA Finals added money (formerly $50), $0 withheld for NBR bull riders Finals added money (formerly $10). Producers' pen fee will remain $50. Percentage of Open Bulls entry fees paid out, before sharing evenly the cost of the 3 PBBA judges, is: 73.75% (formerly 68%).

Producers' Added Money:

All PBBA Open events sanctioned after June 5, 2010 will have a minimum $500 added money for the Open Bulls.

CBR Finals Bulls:

Because some PBBA events have been CBR Horizon events and given the PBBA's relationship with the CBR Horizon events.  Bulls that have been to the CBR Finals are now eligible to compete in PBBA events.  PBR Finals & NFR bulls remain ineligible to compete in PBBA events.

PBBA 3 year old Derby Events:

PBBA 3 year old Derby events that are in conjunction with a PBBA Open event will take place separate from the Open event and will be a bring your own rider event. A stand alone PBBA Derby (not held in conjunction with an Open event) can be a sanctioned bull riding event where the contractors do not bring their own riders.

Stand Alone PBBA 3 year old Derby Events:

For 2010 stand alone PBBA events, not held in conjunction with an open event, the following rules apply: Minimum $500 added money which can be split between Derby & Futurity bulls,  $30 Producers Pen Fee, $20 PBBA Fee, Producer pays the judges.

PBBA/NBR Draft:

The bull riders that enter NBR-PBBA events will be allowed to choose the long round & short round bull they ride.  When a bull riders pays his fees he will draw a number from a hat, that number is the order in which they choose their long round bull.  Short round bulls will be chosen by bull rider position going into the short round or drawn from a hat for anyone drawn back to the short round.
